Terracotta Capital is a private, family-based investment firm in the heart of Silicon Valley. We’re operators who became investors, and we never stopped rolling up our sleeves.
Who We Are
Builders who invest.

We started out as entrepreneurs in technology: founding companies, buying them, selling them, and learning the hard way what it takes to grow something real. Eventually we started investing, and we brought that operator’s mindset with us.
Today we invest in Michelin-starred restaurants and dumpling counters, apartment communities and office buildings, early-stage technology, consumer brands, and the software behind financial markets. It’s an eclectic mix, and that’s on purpose. We invest in what we know and what we love. (Our team also includes licensed real estate agent and broker expertise, which comes in handy.)
We’re not obligated to structure our transactions in a specific manner or view our investments with a pre-determined timeframe for exit or returns. This flexibility enables us to truly align with our operating partners to build long-term value.
And we’re not stuffy about it. We’d rather grab dinner and talk through a problem than trade memos about it.

The Terracotta Warrior
The story behind our name.
The Terracotta Warrior symbolizes one of the many accomplishments of the Qin Dynasty in Ancient China. Emperor Qin, being the first to unite the seven kingdoms in China, has also been credited with the construction of roads and canals to connect the kingdoms, early construction of the Great Wall, the introduction of standards & measurement, institution of a single written language, implementation of a currency system, and the establishment of laws within the empire.
Like the builders of the Qin Dynasty, we believe lasting value comes from strong foundations and a long view.
